SWAN FEET KICKING AWAY IN NEW RED ITALIAN SHOES

Uploaded a whole gang of recent paintings, pieces, slices of recycled vinyl, Italian shoes, reworked cardboard and such today... See, swan-like floating on the calm quiet surface looking like nothing much is going on, while all the time, underneath, you can't see the feet kicking away and working like crazy... all these new pieces are waiting for you here

And last week, three big canvas beasts found, two completely untouched besides anything besides the weather, just there waiting, thrown on a rubbish pile outside a house on the Harrow Road, another big one in a bin with just a messy coat of red paint... all rescued and ready to be worked on....

TO HER

SPRING EQUINOX....

part seven of the ongoing experiment

Back to the 1p leaving pieces on the virtual street thing, part seven, another piece of fresh off the stock shelf never played black seven inch vinyl. The virtual street being ebay and the price being one pence... details here

This is part seven of the ongoing experiment, getting art out there in an alternative interactive kind of way... of course you might fine one of these vinyl pieces or cardboard pieces on the street or left in a bar or on a train... today you might find leafhearts 9as everyone else insists on calling them) left by TO HER in Kensal Green...

I was on the 18 bus a couple of days ago... no, tell you that one on another day, painting time is slipping by.. shoes and bags to paint. Maybe see you at the William IV tomorrow... although I rather suspect the organisers once more have failed to tell anyone the event is happening . Where is the energy?

before that crows that now only have beaks

ghostly white Italian stiletto shoe where once there was leaves and before that crows that now only have beaks sticking out from behind and before that beat boxes and tomorrow something else?

Find it on the street, paint it, put it back on the street again, the art of recycling...

And I do rather like the idea of finding discarded bags and growing leaves on them, never mind the rubbish bins Vivienne, everything is a canvas... Find it on the street, paint it, put it back on the street again, the art of recycling... Captain Leafheart... I do like fashion bags, bring me your bags with their fancy rope handles once you've taken your new dress out for a walk... This one will be at the William IV, along the Harrow Road, Kensal Green, over the road from "To Her", this Sunday, see previous blog...

Yes, Going for the one and Market stalls are street art...

Yes, the sun finally came out, a ladybird almost landed in freshly sprayed paint, even had a daffodil threaten to make an appearance, is the Spring really finally here at last? Sprayed up a storm yesterday in good light and fresh air (well Montana Gold flavoured fresh air) . The green shoots of spray painted spring, Tales Of Topographic paint lakes and Going For The One, Red Italian heels on canvas and cardboard and vinyl. new fresh seven inch vinyl on red, blue and indeed white ready for the weekend, recycled CDs all ready to be dropped with their new leaf growth...

More layers and leaves (and leafhearts) over prog rock logos thrown up as graff on pieces of already covered canvas that then get worked upon some more...

"Are you one of them street artists?" asked someone the other day. No, but those marks and shapes and ways of doing things have been in my visual vocabulary for many years now and I probably did paint on walls before you (or Robbo) ever did. No my walls are canvas shaped or cardboard shaped. I may make some of the same marks, no time for all that almost anal slickness in my work though, Graffic work is not for this paint thrower and I do rather enjoy (controlled) drops and drips and yes I may leave leaves on the street and I may love the idea street art, but no, I would never claim to be " one of them street artists"

Now does anyone feel like collaborating on Market stalls in London thisd summer... the art end of Portobello Road and such places... Share the cost, the space, the work, te fun, the sunshine and the time? Get in touch... D.I.Y and lo-fi, never mind no galleries, STREET ART!

The LOW-FI FAYRE...

The LOW-FI FAYRE is a new monthly event that is to happen over in Kensal Green, London, NW10 (our home turf these days). The first Low-Fi Fayre runs from Midday until 9pm on Sunday 21st March. “This new unique monthly market and social enterprise celebrates all that is low-fi with a variety of stalls and entertainment”. We can expect stalls offering art, craft, books, vintage clothing and who knows what. “Enjoy tea and fabulous cakes from Cake Embassy together with music and film shorts while you browse”. The event takes place within the comfy confines of the rather spacious William IV pub on the Harrow Road, so there is no need to brave the cold” If you are a design-maker, artist, crafter there are stalls still available. “If you would like to hold a stall please email a link to your website or blog or provide a brief description of what you would like to sell”. Stalls cost £10, for further information and to book a stall email: lowfifayre@yahoo.co.uk

We'll be there with some pieces of art and general DIY Organness, hand painted vinyl, small canvas pieces and such, hopefully there will be lots of DIY type being and doing and all around getting involved from others.... More news on the musicians involved, the films and such late this week... The William IV is at 786 Harrow Road,
Kensal Green, London, NW10. nearest tube, Kensal Green on the Bakerloo Line, lot of buses - 52, 18 and such, nice big REVOK piece on the wall outside the pub, some of those mysterious scisors there...

Tine to get some painting done, time to get this year going...

no Daffodils but it is March the 1st and the sun is out and the light is good and dare we think of Spring and creativity and...? Really do need to get out there now.

Lot of street art type things going on this weekend, watching is tougher than doing, itchy spray paint trigger finger...

A whole load of photos from the Hazardous Waste event at Graffik Gallery, Ladbrook Grove, West London, up now over on the Organ website. Lots of good friendly people, lots of exchanges, more Create And Survive interviews done with the Grafik Warfare collective for the next in our series of radio documentaries (and far too much whisky drunk).

Tine to get some painting done, time to get this year going, time time time...
